Today is Friday, January 10, 2014. On January 6 was my dearest mother anniversary of death. It has been 14 unbelievable years that have passed. I had a mass said for her here at our chapel at Our Lady of the Elms on January 7th, the next day due to be had a funeral mass for Sr. Martha Leyden, OP who died at Regina Health Center I read the scripture for the day. We always have a print out for the daily masses and their intentions. I am copy a copy. The mass intention was for Rosa M. Alvarado(my mom) and I had Camilla but it should have been Carmella Osinki. She was the wife of Valentine Osinski a wonderful human being and friend who befriended me when I was at Bradley Bay Rehabilitation Center in Bay Village. He had a scooter and would pass my section on his way to visit his wife Carmella who was at the assisted section of the Center. He was a very loyal man and he visited his wife every day and so on his way he would either see me in the hall by the nurses station or pass my bedroom. He always brought me chocolates and other sweets. He never forgot that and so when I came home from the Rehab. Center in 2009, he would always give me a call every day almost to check on how I was doing. We kept in touch. When Carmella died in 2010, I went to the funeral mass for her in some church in Bay Village that I do not remember. One of the sisters was able to take me to the funeral. Then Valentine died and I did not even know it. His daughter Kathy, whom I was always in touch, never gave it a thought to give me a call. I found out that he passed on much later. So I called Kathy and told her that I would have a mass her at the Elms for his intention. He died in August 2012. For the anniversary of his death I had the mass and Kathy came. I did not give the time to tell her that I had that mass for mom and Carmella. I would have been nice to have Kathy come for the mass. Now come August I will have a mass said for Valentine here at the Elms.
I am now remembering much more now than ever before due to my brain injury. I am moving forward with lots of patience that I am learning one day at a time. PEACE!
